Review & Swatches | Sephora Colour Lip Last lipsticks

Sephora flagship store on Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Paris

Whilst in Paris over the Summer, I managed to visit a Sephora or two, and came across these little gems in Sephora's own line of cosmetics. I absolutely love the Colour Last Lipsticks, and really regret not picking up more. Luckily the french Sephora website ships to the UK, so I'll definitely be getting myself some more of these when I get the chance. Onto the review...

All of the Color Lip Last lipsticks are meant to be long lasting and they certainly live up to their word. I absolutely love how long-lasting they are without drying my lips out. The best part about it? It was as cheap as chips (depending on where you get your chips from) - but seriously, at €11.90, they are really affordable, and they had such a wide range of colours.

L-R #06 'Blooming Rose', #13 'Pink Sunset', #20 'Wanted Red'

L-R #06 'Blooming Rose', #13 'Pink Sunset', #20 'Wanted Red'
#06 'Blooming Rose'
Described on the website as a 'brownish pink', this matte lipstick is more of a dusty pinkish-purple. Even though it's been described as a matte lipstick, it has a more semi-matte/satin finish to it. It is a really flattering shade and a possible dupe would be MAC Pink Plaid, although the Sephora lipstick is slightly more muted than Pink Plaid.

#13 'Pink Sunset'
This is an absolutely gorgeous pink lipstick. Described as a semi-matte hot pink, that is literally what it is. This one is the creamiest of the three and is a perfect summer shade to give a nice pop of colour and brighten a look. This shade is probably very easily dupable as it's simply a hot pink, but despite not being matte MAC Impassioned would be a great dupe of this.

#20 'Wanted Red'
This lipstick here started off my love affair with red lipstick. I've had MAC Lady Danger in my collection a long time about before but ended up giving it to a friend because it was just gathering dust. When I swatched this in-store, something told me I must buy this and good god I'm glad that I did. The staying power on this lipstick is like no other. I put this on the morning after buying it, and went shopping. A few hours passed and I checked my makeup, the lipstick was still there. Checked again before dinner in the evening, and I kid you not; it looked like I had just put it on. I was so amazed with this, not to mention getting quite a few compliments on my lips. It is the most matte of the three I had bought and wasn't drying in the slightest, and the colour is a lovely bold postbox red. It makes teeth look whiter, stays until you have to force it to come off, and is affordable - I cannot fault this lipstick in the slightest. I'm not even going to provide dupes for this because even though the colour can be found elsewhere, the staying power is unparalleled in my experience of lipsticks.

ConclusionI am in love with these lipsticks, especially the red (as if you couldn't tell!). I'm still kicking myself to this day for not getting more of these, and will definitely be buying more as soon as I can. At a mere 11 euros and 90 cents on the French Sephora website, or $13 in Sephora for US readers, it certainly does not break the bank and is worth every last penny.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks, or anything from Sephora's own collection?
What is the longest lasting lipstick that you have ever tried?

Musical Mondays | Daft Punk - Lose Yourself to Dance

This song has constantly been in my head for the past couple of weeks. So catchy and bouncy (if it was possible for a song to be bouncy!).

Also if there's an ultimate anti-aging secret out there, I'm pretty sure Pharrell knows it.

What song are you loving right now?

Wishlist | Palletes, palettes, palettes!

Current wishlist
Being a student, along with Christmas around the corner = less spending, more saving!

... But a girl can still dream can't she?

  1. NARS 'Ride Up to the Moon' Eyeshadow Palette - £32
I've recently become obsessed with palettes, and with Christmas coming soon I'm seeing palettes everywhere! This one has been on my wishlist for quite some time now. I just love the colours and I like the fact that it has a green in it. I'm not one to experiment out of the 'neutral' spectrum of eyeshadows so the brown shades are my driving force to buy it but the green in the palette will definitely help me *sloooowly* break out of my comfort zone.

    2. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette - £56

At £56, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is a really steep investment for three highlighters, but after seeing reviews on this beauty, I've decided that I must have it. Also, I am in need of a highlighter or three it seems; it just looks so nice, and I am a complete sucker for lovely packaging and pretty looking items. Aren't we all?

    3. NARS Guy Bourdin 'One Night Stand' Cheek Palette - £45
This palette has been on my wishlist since I first set my eyes on the promo picture of this over at Temptalia. I've been wanting to try out NARS blushers for a while now and this palette seems really good as it has the cult shades 'Orgasm' and 'Deep Throat', as well as their 'Laguna' Bronzer. At £45, the product definitely justifies the price.

    4. NARS Immaculate Complexion Loose Powder - £26.50
The NARS Loose Powder has been a staple of my daily makeup routine since I bought it two years ago. At £26.50, the amount of product you get is insane. I'm finally getting to my last shreds of this powder now, and that's after two years. It's such an amazing fine-milled powder which is perfect for setting makeup and giving a really nice soft-focused finish to the face, the powder keeps me from getting oily during the day. So it's not a wishlist item per se, just a repurchase item. It's still on my wishlist anyway.

    5. Laura Mercier Oil- Free Primer - £18.50
The reason for this primer being on my wishlist isn't going to be too wordy; I've just been dying to try out a Laura Mercier primer, and I am seriously lacking in the primer department right now.

That's all that's on my immediate wishlist right now, although I have another list as long as my arm for things that I simply want at some point, preferably soon. Ah, I'm far too impatient!
